People have a fascination with the bizarre and one excellent source for bizarre stories is Wikipedia. Sure, much of the information you find is accurate but you never know for sure. If you are reading this article in the dark we suggest turning on the lights because you are in for some scary stories with our list of 10 Wikipedia pages that are sure to give you nightmares.

1. Villisca Axe Murders

At some point in your life you have probably heard the story of Lizzie Borden. You know, she was the girl who was tried for murdering her father and step-mother with an axe but have you ever heard of the Villisca Axe Murders? According to the Wikipedia page the Villisca Axe Murders occurred the year in a town in Iowa that had a population of 2,000 people. The Wiki page claims that someone murdered a family of 6 plus 2 house guests with an axe. As bad as it sounds murder is something that happens in the world. What is strange about the Villisca Axe Murders is that after nearly 100 years no one has been able to solve the case. What is even stranger is that it appears that everyone who was killed remained asleep and nobody awoke to the sounds of their family members being hacked to death by an axe.
