Denver was around during the 1970s, when the U.S was torn up by war. Despite all of the horrors going on around the world, Denver kept his music particularly upbeat and happy. His music style was a careful mix between traditional country and soft folk sound.
Pretty much anywhere in West Virginia, you’ll still hear someone playing “Take Me Home, Country Road” at any time of the day, for any reason. Denver had nine no.1 hits on the charts by the end of the 1970s.
