When most people think of Japan, they generally think of the thriving nightlife shown in movies, right. Well, it turns out you can’t go out dancing in clubs in Tokyo, because that’s illegal.
Weird, right? The law was created in 1948 to protect public morals but is still intact. Since the 2020 Olympics is slated to be in Tokyo, they are trying to overturn the ban between now and then.
Strange that it’s been in place all this time, but they want to overturn it for a bunch of tourist. This doesn’t exactly take it off our travelling list, but maybe we should wait until after the ban is gone. What fun is going out at night if you can’t dance?
